Don Gaetz Tabs Allan Bense to Help Manage Gulf Coast Oil Spill Funds

Senate President Don Gaetz, R-Destin, named former House Speaker Allan Bense, the father-in-law of current House Speaker Will Weatherford, R-Wesley Chapel, to the board of trustees of Triumph Gulf Coast Inc., which manages funds won from lawsuits or settlements in the BP oil spill in the Gulf back in 2010.

Allan Bense is a lifelong champion and passionate steward of the natural and human resources of the Northwest Florida Gulf Coast, Gaetz said. He built successful companies from the ground up, meets payrolls every week, and intimately understands the economy and people of our area. As a business and political leader, he has always cared more about the next generation than the next election.
