Don Gaetz Supports Rick Scott's Decision to Sue Georgia

Senate President Don Gaetz, R-Niceville, announced his support on Tuesday of Gov. Rick Scott's decision to take legal action over the Apalachicola Bay. The governor announced earlier that Florida would be filing a lawsuit in the U.S. Supreme Court to address Georgia's growing consumption of water, which "threatens the economic future of the Apalachicola region."

One of Florida's greatest economic and natural treasures is imperiled," said Gaetz. "Governor Scott has done all anyone could to resolve this issue with the state of Georgia. We don't like to sue our neighbors but their intransigence has left us no other course.I thank and fully support Governor Scott in his decision.
