Dennis Ross: Navigators Need Background Checks

With concerns about the navigators enrolling people into President Barack Obamas federal health-care law, U.S. Rep. Dennis Ross, R-Fla., introduced a bill offering some new regulations on who can hold those positions. Ross Safety Before Access Act will ensure navigators have background checks and will allow people to opt out of the health care law until security measures are in place.

Ever since Obamacare was first implemented, there have been serious problems, said Ross. Since the president wont eliminate his signature bill, we need to address some of its most glaring safety issues. There have been reports from across the country that some of the people helping consumers enroll in the Affordable Health Care Act have outstanding warrants for their arrest. There is a lack of security surrounding peoples personal information in the Affordable Care Act which could lead to identity theft of grand proportions. My bill will keep peoples personal information personal and will provide oversight for one security aspect of this problem-prone legislation that is Obamacare.

UPDATE: Mark Hollis, a spokesman for the Florida House Democratic Caucus, contacted Sunshine State News to point out there is a similar law --Section 626.9953, Florida Statutes --in Florida.
