Dennis Ross' Campaign Team Rips Into Democratic Opponents
Ignoring the challenge from Republican primary rival John Lindsey for the moment, the campaign team of former Rep. Dennis Ross, running to replace U.S. Rep. Adam Putnam in Congress, turned its fire to the two candidates fighting for the Democratic nod in the race: Polk County Supervisor of Elections Lori Edwards and Navy veteran Doug Tudor who ran against Putnam in 2008.
While both candidates have failed to offer any specifics about legislation or critical issues they would support or oppose, Lori Edwards has been particularly vapid and vague in her responses, refusing to take a single position on an important issue, said Fred Piccolo, Ross campaign manager. Edwards and Tudor should be honest with the voters about whether they will support most, or all, of the Pelosi/Obama/Reid agenda or not. District 12, and the rest of the country, witnessed the spineless nature of the Blue Dog Democrats during the Obamacare, cap-and-trade, stimulus, and bailout debates. The voters of District 12 deserve honest answers and straight talk.
For example, during a recent candidate debate, Lori Edwards was asked if she would support cap-and-trade, continued Piccolo. Her response indicated she would not support cap-and-trade legislation because the legislation was unlikely to pass. Is Ms. Edwards saying she will only support legislation that appears assured of passage? Or is she saying that she will not take the lead on any issue until she knows most of her liberal colleagues have already taken a position? She has indicated she supports Obamacare, but that she doesn't believe it will work. Being all things to all people is not leadership and tough times demand real leaders.
