Dennis Baxley Reels in Marion County Commissioner's Endorsement

Continuing his bid for an open Florida Senate seat in 2016, state Rep. Dennis Baxley, R-Ocala, continued to nail down his home base on Tuesday as Marion County Commissioner Carl Zalak endorsed him. 

“Dennis has been a constant advocate for local governance.  Through his experience as the mayor-Commissioner of Belleview, he uniquely understands the importance of governing close to home,” said Zalak.  “Dennis will take the principle of local governance and will continue to protect faith, family, freedom, and opportunity in the state Senate.  Dennis Baxley has a proven track record of leadership that we can trust.”

“I am honored to have Carl’s support,” said Baxley.  “As an entrepreneur and local official, he understands the need for conservative state policies to help our local economy grow.  I look forward to continuing to work with him and other leaders to make sure the Florida Senate passes good legislation that expands opportunity for everyone.”

State Rep. Jimmie Smith, R-Inverness, is also running for the Republican nomination.
