Dennis Baxley Endorsed by Marion County Sheriff

Marion County Sheriff Chris Blair punched the ticket for state Rep. Dennis Baxley’s, R-Ocala, bid for a Florida Senate seat in 2016.  

Baxley faces state Rep. Jimmie Smith, R-Inverness, in the Republican primary to replace term limited Sen. Charlie Dean, R-Inverness, next year.
 
“Dennis Baxley uniquely understands the challenges of law enforcement,” said Blair on Tuesday.  “His son serves as a deputy sheriff and is on the front line every day.  Dennis recognizes the dangers that law enforcement officers encounter and the protection they provide.”
 
“I am honored to have Sheriff Blair’s support,” said Baxley.  “He has spent the better part of his life serving Marion County, and I am grateful for the tremendous job that he and all of our law enforcement community provide.  I look forward to continuing to work with him to keep our area the great place it is to live and work.”
