Dems Still Raising Cash to Shut Down Allen West's Last Election Chances

Think the election is over? Not on the Treasure Coast, or in the Palm Beaches, or anywhere money can be raised to help hammer a nail in another GOP coffin.

Democrats 2012, dccc@dccc.org, has identified the GOP coffin belonging to U.S. Rep. Allen West, who officially lost Tuesday night but won't believe it. West won't let the Democratic supervisor of elections close the lid on his bid for re-election against Democrat Patrick Murphy. He claims the St. Lucie supervisor's office made mistakes, the race deserves a recount and he's going after it.

So here comes dccc@dccc.org on Wednesday, emailing tens of thousands of "supporters" -- maybe more -- asking for money to help nail that Republican coffin lid shut.

"... We're really close to toppling the king of the House Tea Party Caucus, Congressman Allen West," says dccc@dccc.org. "Democratic Candidate Patrick Murphy has a decisive lead -- but West has a huge war chest ready to challenge the ballots of Florida voters. ...

This busy little website asks for "$3 or more right now to help us get boots on the ground and protect the vote." Could the referred-to boots be lawyers?

Above a final pitch for money, the email concludes, "Allen West is infamous for his unhinged rants calling President Obama a "low-level socialist agitator" and accusing Democratic members of Congress of being part of the "Communist Party." If he loses, it would be absolutely devastating to the tea party movement. Help us make it happen!"

I guess if it works, milk it.
