Dems Hit Republicans on Sarah Palin

With Sarah Palin in the state to help Republican candidates, Florida Democrats fired away on Saturday -- trying to link Sunshine states with the colorful former Alaska governor.

My opponent is scared, wrote former Tallahassee Mayor Scott Maddox in an e-mail to supporters. Maddox is running against Republican U.S. Rep. Adam Putnam to be Floridas next commissioner of agriculture and consumer services. Why else would Congressman Adam Putnam, a man who claims to want to get away from national politics and return to his roots in Florida, campaign at an event this afternoon featuring RNC Chairman Michael Steele, Marco Rubio and Sarah Palin?

That's right: my opponent is campaigning with Sarah Palin, continued Maddox. This really is not surprising, though. My campaign has spent the past year identifying the countless number of times my opponent has decided to put the special interests first, over everyday Floridians. Now he wants to run further to the right to shore up his Republican support in time for the election.

The campaign team of U.S. Rep. Kendrick Meek, the Democrat in the U.S. Senate race, tried to tie Palin to Republican candidate Marco Rubio, the front-runner in the race. The Meek team unveiled a new feature on their site attacking Palin and Rubio for backing drilling in Florida waters.
