Dem Primary Challenger Randall Terry Takes Aim at Obama

Democratic presidential candidate Randall Terry -- the pro-life activist who founded Operation Rescue and who Floridians may remember for his role in the Teri Schiavo case as well as his challenge to the late Senate President Jim King in the Republican primary back in 2006 --offered stinging words for President Barack Obamas State of the Union address. Terry is challenging Obama in the Democratic primaries in 2012.

"President Obama played the political vixen with alluring charm -- casting glances at all sides of the political spectrum -- but he will still bed down with Big Brother, big government, and big budgets when he washes off his makeup, said Terry. "He cast a fleeting look at reducing spending, then flirted with more government money for health care, business grants, college education, Internet growth, and even a high-speed rail to reach 80 percent of all Americans within 25 years. Who will pay for this -- and the inevitable cost overruns? My guess is the same folks who bailed out GM and AIG."

Terry also took aim at the president on high-speed rail, an issue garnering a good deal of attention in the Sunshine State.

"Concerning a high-speed rail, I suggest the president look at a map, said Terry as he kicked over Obamas call for 80 percent of Americans to be connected with high-speed rail. To reach his goal would require high-speed rails to the top 100 media markets -- from New York City to Huntsville, Ala.; from Madison, Wis., to Johnstown, Pa.; from Evansville, Ind., to Savannah, Ga. We are not a small European country; we are a transcontinental nation. And by the way, we love our cars. Driving there is half the fun, without a drunk stranger sitting next you. And FYI to voters -- the 'pat-downs' would come right after the first Muslim terrorist's bomb goes off in a train station."

Terry, who hopes to run ads showing abortion procedures in his campaign, hit Obama on abortion.

"President Obama mentioned the horrific slayings by the deranged Jared Loughner in Tucson, Ariz., but failed to mention the grisly murders committed in cold blood by Kermit Gosnell in Philadelphia, Pa., said Terry. There probably wasn't enough political perfume in the blood of those babies."
