Debt Deal 'No Time for Celebration,' George LeMieux Says

President Barack Obama urged Congress Sunday night to quickly pass a debt and budget plan to avert a potential government default.

But the deal that Obama and the Democrats called a "bipartisan compromise" is already encountering opposition from conservatives, who said the proposed cuts were too meager.

George LeMieux, a Florida GOP candidate for U.S. Senate, said, This deal is no time for celebration; it offers no significant debt reduction for our children and grandchildren, and no fundamental reforms that will solve Washingtons spending addiction."
