U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla., the chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and a potential U.S. Senate candidate in 2016, is in trouble as noted trial attorney and Democratic supporter John Morgan is accusing her of offering to change her position on medical marijuana for campaign donations.
Morgan forwarded an email chain of his correspondence with Wasserman Schultzs team to Marc Caputo of Politico. Wasserman Schultz and Morgan exchanged fire last year while they stood on different sides of Amendment 2, a proposal to expand medical marijuana in the Sunshine State. While Morgan was the chief supporter of Amendment 2, Wasserman Schultz opposed the proposal.
