Dean Cannon: Charlie Crist 'What a Politician Should Not Be'

House Speaker Dean Cannon, R-Winter Park, took a dig at former Gov. Charlie Crist as the House unveiled the speakers portrait on Tuesday.

Cannon credited former Gov. Jeb Bush for showing what a leader should be and then added former Gov. Charlie Crist, for showing me what a politician should not be.

Cannon, who has not announced his plans for after his term expires, called having his portrait hung in the House gallery a sobering reminder that his time in office is coming to an end.

To make room, the portrait of former speaker Dannite Hill Mays, who served from 1891 to 1897, was removed.
