David Jolly Has 658k on Hand for Senate Bid
U.S. Rep. David Jolly, R-Fla., announced on Thursday that, after the third quarter of 2015, he had more than $658,000 on hand for his U.S. Senate bid. His campaign noted Jolly had almost $893,000 raised by the end of September but this includes money--around $440,000--moved over from his previous congressional campaign.
Jolly, who entered the race in the middle of July, is running for the seat currently held by U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., who is running for the presidency and has said he will not seek a second term in the Senate.
“I have said from the start we need a Congress that works, and I’m grateful to those who share this conviction,” Jolly said. ”But it’s not enough to just talk about it. We need conservative leaders who have the courage to make it happen, whatever it takes, whatever sacrifice may be required. That’s why I’m in this race, and that’s why I am humbled by the support my campaign for United States Senate continues to receive from Floridians across the state.”
U.S. Rep. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla. announced on Wednesday it raised $750,000 and almost $2.5 million in the bank while a super-PAC backing him had $1.2 million for his Senate bid.
The team behind businessman Todd Wilcox noted on Wednesday it had brought in more than $258,400 in the third quarter while the candidate chipped in $500,000 from his own funds. Wilcox had more than $683,500 on hand at the end of September for his bid for the Republican nomination.
