Dan Webster Rips Obama's Handling of Benghazi
Most eyes on Washington are on the looming federal shutdown. But U.S. Rep. Dan Webster, R-Fla., offered some thoughts on the Obama administrations response to the attack on State Department staffers in Benghazi that took place a year ago and left four Americans, including Ambassador Christopher Stevens, dead.
On Sept. 12 of last year, four American citizens were killed in the aftermath of the 9/11/12 attack on the American Consulate in Benghazi, Webster wrote supporters in an email sent out on Saturday. A year has passed since that horrible event, and yet no one has been brought to justice for these attacks. True leadership requires courage, and I'm disappointed in the failure of our nation's leaders to provide protection and support for those who serve our country. President Obama has failed to hold those responsible accountable for these deaths, and I'm disappointed that no action has been taken.
That is why I've co-sponsored House Resolution 36, which calls for the formation of a select committee which will work to investigate these terrorist actions, Webster added. I will continue to push for answers for the families of these four American patriots and all Americans. Our servicemen deserve to be protected by the country they serve.
These are the issues I will continue to fight for here in Washington while also trying to tackle our governments addiction to spending, get government out of the way, and create jobs to get our great American economic engine roaring again, Webster insisted. I will continue to press for justice and answers to the attacks in Benghazi.
