Curt Clawson Stands With Bill Nelson Against Drilling Off Florida Gulf Coast

U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson’s, D-Fla., efforts to ensure no drilling off the Gulf coast of Florida won him the applause of U.S. Rep. Curt Clawson, R-Fla.

On Thursday, Clawson sent a letter to Nelson, praising the Senate Democrat for his work on the matter, insisting “Florida’s world-class beaches and tourism economy” would be harmed if there’s driling in the Gulf. 

Clawson also assured Nelson there were members of the House on both sides of the aisle working to keep the current moratorium in place.

“We will continue to support legislation that will block federal spending on drilling initiatives in the Gulf,” Clawson wrote. “These efforts to protect the Florida coastline reach across party lines.”
