Crist's Take on Florida's Unemployment Numbers

Gov. Charlie Crist offered his spin on the new unemployment numbers.

To see a slight drop in Floridas unemployment rate two months in a row is certainly encouraging, said Crist on the unemployment rate dropping from 12 percent in April to 11.7 percent in May. We continue to work toward ensuring more and more job opportunities are available for out-of-work Floridians, especially as we face the economic uncertainties caused by the ongoing oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. We are also focused on making sure the world knows the vast majority of Floridas beaches are clean and clear, and our fishing and seafood are the best.
