Speaking at Altamonte Springs on Wednesday, Gov. Charlie Crist praised the Seminole Tribe of Florida for donating $1.75 million to the Florida Council on Compulsive Gambling.
I am grateful for Floridians like the Seminole Tribe of Florida and the Florida Council on Compulsive Gambling who give their time and resources to support and educate their fellow Floridians, said Crist. My administration has worked closely with the Seminole Tribe of Florida for three years and they have remained steadfastly committed to the betterment of our state.
Crist backed a compact with the Seminoles in which the tribe will send more than $1 billion to the state over the next five years -- revenue generated from casinos.
