Crist & LeMieux: Hey, Who Moved My Cheese?
Sen. George LeMieux broke ranks with Gov. Charlie Crist, saying he would not have voted for the Stimulus package, "now that we see how little of that money has stimulated the economy."
In John Kerry-esque fashion, the man Crist appointed to fill Mel Martinez's seat said he was for the Stimulus before he was against it.
That, noted the St. Petersburg Times, puts Crist's former chief of staff at odds with the governor, who said he would have taken the "pragmatic" approach and voted for the plan.
The Marco Rubio campaign cited an Orlando Sentinel piece from May 2009 in which Crist staked out a different position than Rubio and then Sen. Mel Martinez by saying he would have voted for the Stimulus.
Said Rubio spokesman Alex Burgos: When it comes to creating jobs at a time of record unemployment in Florida, Charlie Crists and Barack Obamas Stimulus promises have proven to be as realistic as a cheese factory on the moon."
