Crist Holds Ceremonial Signing for Civil Rights Hall of Fame

On Wednesday morning, Gov. Charlie Crist has a ceremonial signing for the creation of the Florida Civil Rights Hall of Fame. Sen. Tony Hill, D-Jacksonville, and Rep. Alvin Williams, D-Tallahassee, sponsored the bill earlier in the year. A portion of the Capitol will be set aside to honor the inductees.

Many courageous Floridians have made tremendous sacrifices so that every man, woman and child who call the Sunshine State home can experience equal opportunity and enjoy civil rights, said Crist. I am privileged to sign legislation that will honor the heroes who fought for civil rights in our state.
