Crenshaw Recognizes Crohn’s and Colitis Awareness Week
Florida Republican U.S. Rep. Ander Crenshaw took to the House floor on Thursday afternoon to introduce a resolution declaring this the start of Crohns and Colitis Awareness Week. Crenshaw teamed up with U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr., D-Ill., to introduce the measure.
Crohns disease and ulcerative colitis are diseases that are collectively known as inflammatory bowel disease. They are painful. They are incurable. They attack the digestive system, and they affect one out of every 200 people in our country, Crenshaw said in his speech. Today, we will file a House resolution which will support this Awareness Week and hopefully, as we work with the Crohns and Colitis Foundations of America, all Americans will use this week, this time to join in this fight to raise awareness, to increase research, and to find a cure for this debilitating disease.
