Craig Miller Team Smacks Suzanne Kosmas Over Fund-raising Event
With the financial reform bill about to come up to a vote in Congress, the campaign team for Republican congressional candidate Craig Miller is wondering why incumbent U.S. Rep. Suzanne Kosmas, a Democrat, is having a fund-raising dinner hosted by financial services professionals.
"Has Suzanne Kosmas no shame?" asked Jon Miller, a spokesman for Craig Millers campaign (no relation). "While many of her constituents are trying to figure out howto make their mortgage payment, Rep. Kosmas is wining and dining the very people whose industry she will vote on any day now. I call on Rep. Kosmas to cancel this fund-raiser and return all monies from the financial services industry associated with it. To not do so clearly shows that she cares more about dollars than the integrity of her vote."
Craig Miller, the former CEO of Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, is facing a close Republican primary to take on Kosmas in November.
UPDATE: Sources are saying that the Kosmas event was already canceled. The Miller camp said the event was rescheduled until July 14.
UPDATE 2: The Miller team is saying they got an email today showing the event was moved to July 14 while the Kosmas camp is saying the event was canceled.
