Conservatives Back Marco Rubio's Effort Against Obamacare Bailout

U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., insisted on Tuesday that his proposal to ensure federal funds will not be used to bail out insurance companies in the aftermath of President Barack Obamas federal health-care law has support.

Rubio has introduced the Obamacare Taxpayer Bailout Prevention Act in the Senate while U.S. Rep. Tim Griffin, R-Ark., is sponsoring it in the House. On Tuesday, Rubio and Griffin unveiled a letter signed by more than 30 conservative leaders and organizations in support of their proposal.

As awareness grows about the likelihood of a taxpayer-funded bailout of health insurers under Obamacare, this possibility will be taken off the table, Rubio and Griffin said in a joint statement on Tuesday. The American people are tired of paying for Washingtons mistakes and tired of politicians who leave them and future generations with the bill. If Obamacare cant survive without a taxpayer-funded bailout, its another sure sign this entire health law has to be replaced.

Among the conservative groups and leaders backing the measure include FreedomWorks, the Tea Party Express, Grover Norquist of Americans for Tax Reform, Citizens Against Government Waste, the Campaign for Liberty, Log Cabin Republicans and Morton Blackwell.
