Conservative University Opening Gainesville Campus in 2012
In a previous incarnation as a journeyman administrator in higher education, I had the pleasure of working with Yorktown University in Denver back in 2006. Yorktown is a nontraditional university fighting for traditional values, offering degrees in government and business from a conservative and free-market perspective.
With that in mind, I'm happy to report on Wednesday, president Richard Bishirjian, a leading intellectual of the conservative movement, announced in the universitys monthly newsletter that Yorktown will be opening a campus in Gainesville, where classes will start in August 2012. The catalog for the Gainesville campus can be found here. Yorktown was authorized by the state Commission for Independent Education to offer three degree programs last month.
