Conservative Senate Candidate Marielena Stuart Hits CPAC

Conservative writer and activist Marielena Stuart was not on stage at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) event in Orlando where four Republican hopefuls to challenge Democratic U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson spoke on Friday. Stuart worked the crowd, meeting with conservative and Republican activists as she continues her bid for the Republican nomination.

While she was not on stage, Stuart seemed upbeat when she talked to Sunshine State News on Friday. She said that she would have a busy schedule throughout September and October and was gaining momentum and had received a tremendous reception on her first days on the campaign trail.

Stuart and her supporters are passing out literature calling her the true conservative in the race and containing the endorsement of longtime California Congressman Bob Dornan. Asked by Sunshine State News what the most important issue in the campaign was, Stuart -- a social and religious conservative -- replied without hesitation, The economy and jobs.
