Conservative Recognition for Adam Putnam
U.S. Rep. Adam Putnam, the Republican nominee in the race for agriculture and consumer services commissioner, was named a Guardian of Small Business by the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) and a Tax Fighter by the National Tax Limitation Committee (NTLC).
"In the 111th Congress, Representative Putnam proved that he is a champion of small business, said Dan Danner, president and CEO of the NFIB. The Guardian of Small Business award is a token of the deep appreciation that small-business owners have for elected officials who promote and protect their right to own, operate and grow their businesses.
Small businesses form the backbone not only of our economy, but also of our communities, said Putnam. These entrepreneurs provide the bulk of our jobs and support their home communities in countless civic and charitable ways.Truly, one of the great strengths of America is its small-business owners.
The congressman has received an A grade, proven to be a consistent fiscal conservative and friend of the taxpayer, said Lew Uhler, chairman of the NTLC.
I am honored by this recognition, said Putnam.More people in Washington, more members of Congress and more people inside the executive branch need to be putting taxpayers first. Washington is adding more than a trillion dollars to our national debt this year alone. This situation is reaching crisis proportions. Grass-roots organizations like NTLC can help by keeping the pressure on our elected officials to put a foot firmly on the spending machines brake-pedal and turn this thing around before its too late.
