Conservative Favorites Jeb Bush and Phyllis Schlafly Helping Out Bill McCollum

With less than three weeks until the primary and trailing in the polls behind health-care executive Rick Scott for the Republican gubernatorial nomination, Attorney General Bill McCollum is bringing out prominent conservative supporters in an attempt to salvage his campaign.

McCollum will campaign across the state on Monday with former Gov. Jeb Bush -- an early backer of the attorney general who remains popular among Florida Republicans.

The attorney general also won the backing of conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly, founder and president of the Eagle Forum PAC.

The upcoming Republican primary on Aug. 24 will be a crucial decision for Republican voters in Florida as to whether their state will be returned to proven, sound conservative policies and principles, said Schlafly. Bill McCollum can point to a distinguished record of conservative votes and services. He has demonstrated leadership on a variety of issues important to conservative voters.
