Conservative Activist Backs Bill McCollum for Governor Over Rick Scott

A day after backing Lt. Gov. Jeff Kottkamp for attorney general, conservative leader John Stemberger, president and general counsel of the Florida Family Policy Council, endorsed Attorney General Bill McCollum for the Republican gubernatorial nomination over health care executive Rick Scott.

Stemberger praised McCollums record as attorney general.

As Attorney General, he fought illegal predatory gambling in Florida; he put child predators and child pornographers behind bars; and he aggressively defended all of Floridas laws including the longstanding law prohibiting homosexuals from adopting children instead of placing them in homes with both mothers and fathers, said Stemberger.
