Connie Mack Looks to Move Up the Congressional Ladder

U.S. Rep. Connie Mack is looking to move up in the Republican congressional ranks. Mack, who is a possible U.S. Senate candidate in 2012, announced on Thursday that he would run for the House Republican Policy Committee chairmanship.

The American people spoke loud and clear on Tuesday, said Mack. They are tired of the big government policies of the last several years, and they want a return to the principles that make our nation strong: limited government, personal freedoms, and free-market ideals. Right now, with a new dawn in Washington, the Republican Policy Committee has a unique opportunity to cultivate conservative ideas that will move our nation forward.

I am running for chairman of the Republican Policy Committee to help develop those ideas and follow through on the Republican conferences 'Pledge to America,' added Mack. By bringing together various perspectives and allowing ideas to flourish, we can harness the energy of our country and our conference to enact thoughtful ideas that get back to our nations founding principles.
