Connie Mack Calls for Timothy Geithner to Go
With all the economic problems last week -- from a wild ride on Wall Street to national unemployment remaining at more than 9 percent -- Florida Republican U.S. Rep. Connie Mack called for U.S. Treasurer Timothy Geithner to resign.
Leading up to the Aug. 2nd debt-limit deadline, President Obama, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, and New York Times columnist Paul Krugman warned of economic calamity if a deal was not reached. Yet the debt limit was raised, and now we are seeing stocks plummet at an alarming rate and international markets have cratered. America has again seen calamity of liberal economic policy, said Mack. America has had enough of the liberal belief in big government spending for prosperity. Its time to repeal and replace Secretary Geithner as a first step toward recovery.
Geithner announced over the weekend that he intends to stay on until after the 2012 elections.
