Connie Mack Calls for Obama to Approve Canadian Oil Pipeline
From his perch as chairman of the U.S. House Western Hemisphere Subcommittee, Florida Republican Connie Mack proposed a solution to help lower gas prices in America -- bring oil in from Canada. The Florida Republican also said that this wouldincrease the nation's security.
Mack called for President Barack Obama to quickly approve the Keystone XL pipeline which would send oil from Canadian fields in the United States.
If the president does not act soon, the Keystone XL pipeline will forgo U.S. markets and will be built across Canada in order to ship the oil to China, said Mack on Tuesday. This administrations delay is turning into a failure to bring increased job opportunities and energy security to our nation. The environmental impact studies on this pipeline have been exhaustive and the process longer than past approval processes for similar pipelines. The American people can no longer wait for this administration to act.
