Connie Mack Bashes Bill Nelson Over Keystone XL Pipeline
Even as gas prices continue to drop across Florida, Republican Senate hopeful U.S. Rep. Connie Mack continues to hammer the Democrat incumbent -- U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson -- for opposing the Keystone XL Pipeline.
Macks latest salvo against Nelson came late Wednesday when the congressman released a statement attacking the senator over the pipeline.
Senator Nelson is using his perch as a member of the conference committee to stop the authorization of a project the American people want and need, the Keystone XL Pipeline, Mack said. Its appalling how easily Senator Nelson is swayed to do President Obamas bidding rather than whats right for Florida. With more than 20 million Americans out of work and even more underemployed, why are these Lockstep Liberals standing in the way of a project that would put Americans back to work?
With polls showing that he is running neck and neck with Nelson and that around a large segment of the voters are not sure what they think about the incumbent despite his four decades on the Florida political stage, Mack is trying to paint Nelson as a liberal instead of a moderate. Its been tried before with little success, but Nelson is clearly vulnerable as he does not come close to breaking 50 percent in the polls. Well see how Macks efforts work as Nelson revs up his efforts to win a third term.
