Congressional Republicans Join Bill McCollum's Suit Against Obama Health-Care Laws
More than 50 congressional Republicans, led by U.S. Rep. Tom Price of Georgia, have joined the legal challenge launched by Attorney General Bill McCollum against new federal health-care laws backed by President Barack Obama.
Price and members of the Republican Study Committee (RSC) filed an amicus brief -- joining 20 states led by Florida as well as the National Federation of Independent Business.
In addition to voting for outright repeal, conservatives can support legal challenges, defund Obamacare, and dispute the job-killing regulations it produces, said Price. Since the White House and Senate stand in the way of repeal, a new Republican majority will pursue every possible avenue to protect families and businesses from this job-killing and unconstitutional takeover of health care. The need for real solutions that rein in costs is greater now than ever. Even as Republicans combat Obamacare, we will keep working to replace it with affordable reforms that give families more control over their health-care decisions.
Price is facing a challenge to from Florida U.S. Rep. Connie Mack as both men look to head up Republican policy in the House.
