Concealed Weapons Applications Now Taken by Marion County Tax Collector

On Thursday, Florida Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam announced that North Central Florida residents can go to the Marion County tax collectors office to apply for a concealed weapon license. Marion County Tax Collector George Albright joined his counterparts in Lee, Pinellas, Highlands, Okaloosa, Indian River and Nassau counties in agreeing to let concealed weapons applications go from his office to the state Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Before this, the nearest place to apply for a concealed weapons permit was in Jacksonville.

We will continue to partner tax collectors to offer Floridians more choices and better service when applying for concealed weapon licenses, Putnam said on Thursday. By partnering with tax collectors throughout the state, we are providing a more convenient experience for Floridians to apply for their concealed weapon license, while also saving money to the state.

This is a great day for the citizens of North Central Florida, said Albright. Our office looks forward to serving our customers in a timely and efficient manner.
