Common Core Gets the Support of Florida League of Women Voters
The League of Women Voters of Florida expressed their support for Common Core education standards, urging the Sunshine State to enact them quickly.
"Raising standards to national and international levels is a 'no brainer' for Florida. What parent doesn't want their child to compete for the best jobs?" said Deirdre Macnab, the president of the Florida LWV on Thursday.
"Excellence takes courage, and we urge our state leaders to move forward in a swift and purposeful manner in implementing these standards," continued Macnab. "Let's ensure Florida joins the ranks of states who say 'yes' to higher expectations and an internationally recognized curriculum. Our children's futures depend on being a part of this national step forward."
