Colombia Officials Visit Port of Port St. Joe

A delegation of officials from Colombia, an end-of-the-year trade mission destination for Gov. Rick Scott, visited the Port of Port St. Joe last week.

Columbia and South America could be critical markets for a developed Port of Port St. Joe when a widened Panama Canal, capable of handling the largest of cargo vessels, opens in 2014, according to the Port St. Joe Star.

The visit comes as the St. Joe Co. has entertained representatives from a company from Spain that specializes in developing ports, the newspaper reported.
