Claiming Momentum, Rick Santorum Heads Home to Pennsylvania
Former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania is heading back home to the Keystone State, the first time he has returned to his base since his fourth place finish in the Iowa straw poll held in Ames earlier in the month.
The Santorum camp has insisted their fundraising has picked up after Ames and there is more interest in Pennsylvania in the campaign. Santorum will be in Old Forge on Monday before heading to Harrisburg and Centre Hall on Tuesday.
"I am excited about returning to where this journey began over 20 years ago, with another upset win over an incumbent everyone said we could not beat," said Santorum. "So much positive has happened to our campaign that was once written off, but now has such momentum following the outpouring of support we received in Ames. I cannot wait to tell many old friends of all we have accomplished thus far, and our vision for moving forward toward victory in November 2012."
