Claiming Momentum, Pam Bondi Pledges to Fight Gangs
Having held a round-table ongang violence earlier in the week, Republican attorney general candidate Pam Bondi released her strategy on Friday to combat the problem.
Bondi stressed her experienced as a prosecutor and noted that she had drawn upon law enforcement groups and youth organizations and charities to formulate her plan.
"Drug abuse, lost lives and other crimes associated with gangs take an inestimable toll on the social fabric of our families and communities, and I am committed to shining a spotlight on this tragic crime," said Bondi. "I have never been in politics before, and I think that I can bring a fresh approach to how this and other crimes in our state are approached. It is important to me that the brave law enforcement officers, prosecutors, school office resources, rehabilitation centers and others on the front lines of our fight against gangs have a front seat in the creation of this plan. Their input is invaluable to the success of this effort."
The Bondi camp also weighed in on its candidate winning four straw polls -- including three this week.
These straw-poll wins are clear evidence that Pam Bondi is earning the trust of citizens across our state who are concerned about jobs, the safety of our children and our constitutional rights, said Brett Doster, a spokesman for Bondi. Pam Bondi will be the kind of attorney general they want and deserve.
