Chicago-Style Election Loot Flows Into Florida FairDistricts
FairDistricts has tapped the deep pockets of another big-spending liberal, landing a $200,000 contribution from Fred Eychaner, a Chicagoland media mogul who also funded ACORN and President Obama.
Eychaner, who has given millions to the national Democratic Party, extended his left-wing largesse with late support for FairDistricts' Amendment 5/Amendment 6 campaign. Those measures on the fall ballot have collected more than $4 million in contributions from trial lawyers, unions and other Democratic Party loyalists.
FairDistricts is scrambling for more cash since the formation of an opposition group, Protect Your Vote, which brands Amendments 5 and 6 as not-so-thinly veiled schemes to throw legislative and congressional redistricting to the courts (and those trial lawyers).
Prior to his Oct. 4 contribution to Fair Districts, Eychaner gave $100,000 to ACORN, the notorious left-wing organizing outfit that has skirted or violated election laws in several states.
Eychaner is so tight with Obama that, in 2008, Michelle Obama hosted a fund-raiser at the home of the Newsweb president.
The media boss's prodigious bankroll moved Michelle to say, "He has broken records with his fund-raising and thats important because he has the resources that he needs to operate the kind of ground game that will be critical"
Just the kind of help Florida needs.
