Charlie Crist Turns to Bill De Blasio's Campaign Manager
After managing Bill De Blasios dark-horse triumph to be the next mayor of New York City, Bill Hyers is one of the hottest names among Democratic strategists. Hyers will be headed to Florida as he attempts a follow-up, guiding former Gov. Charlie Crists bid to defeat Gov. Rick Scott.
Crist is a pretty sharp contrast to De Blasio, who stuck to his guns and ran to the left of the likes of Anthony Weiner, Bill Thompson and Christine Quinn when he ran in the Democratic mayoral primary. Crist, of course, has spent the last few years running for office as a Republican, with no party affiliation and now as a Democrat and changing his positions with each new party label.
The Washington Post offered an interesting look at Hyers this weekend as he starts his new assignment.
