Charlie Crist Tap Dances His Way Through MSNBC 'Daily Rundown" Interview
Interviewing the 44th governor of Florida, Monday morning on MSNBC's "The Daily Rundown," Chuck Todd experienced for himself that old familiar Charlie Crist shuffle-ball-change.
Todd asked Crist, "What can we do to bring more transparency to state parties and state government?"
Crist, waiting to see if he'll testify in the Jim Greer trial, replied that he's very worried about transparency, too.
"I think my friend (former Democratic state senator) Dan Gelber has the answer," he explained. "Dan wants to see open primaries where voters go to the polls on primary day and take their pick who they want to vote for in the polls."
Replied Todd: "So, you want to see the parties weakened and give the power to the super-PACs?"
"No, no," Crist danced. "I want to give the power to the people. The people should have the power, not the parties."
A perplexed Chuck Todd moved on to other issues, including Florida's "bombastic pair" up for election, Republican Allen West and Democrat Alan Grayson. Crist predicted Patrick Murphy, the Dem, would easily defeat West in South Flolrida and Alan Grayson will be back in Congress again.
Surprise, surprise, the former governor said he is supporting both Democratic candidates.
