Charlie Crist Praises Shannon Estenoz Heading to Federal Everglades Restoration Post

Outgoing Gov. Charlie Crist cheered U.S. Interior Secretary Ken Salazar on Tuesday for selecting Shannon Estenoz to serve as director of federal Everglades Restoration Initiatives.

I commend Interior Secretary Ken Salazar for recognizing Shannons experience, expertise and commitment to restoring the famed River of Grass, said Crist. While we regret she will no longer serve on the governing board of the South Florida Water Management District, we are confident that in her new capacity she will help advance the federal-state restoration efforts so critical to preserving the Everglades ecosystem and the wildlife that call it home.
