Charlie Crist Kicks Off National Book Tour

Former Gov. Charlie Crist kicked off a national tour to promote his new book "The Party's Over," in which he attempts to explain what led him to change from a longtime Republican to an independent and then a Democrat.

While Crist will discuss his book, the tour is another opportunity for the former governor to get back into the spotlight and familiarize himself with Florida voters.

Crist will appear Tuesday on "Morning Joe," a talk show hosted by Joe Scarborough, a Republican and former Florida Panhandle congressman. Crist will also make national appearances on the "OReilly Factor," the "Colbert Report,"CNNs "Piers Morgan Live," and "Real Time" with Bill Maher.Crist's final stop will be at Haslams Book Store in St. Petersburg.

According to the Tampa Tribune, Crist said he had "no idea" whether the book tour would help his campaign.

Were just going to do the tour and well see what happens, he said. I hope people buy it because it goes into the kind of depth you dont get to go into in the course of a campaign.
