Charlie Crist Honors Hanukkah

Having taken part in a menorah lighting ceremony with incoming Gov. Rick Scott on Monday, Gov. Charlie Crist offered his thoughts on Hanukkah on Wednesday.

Carole and I extend warm wishes of joy and prosperity to all Floridians observing the Festival of Lights, said Crist. Beginning this evening, families and friends will gather to light the celebrations first candle.

The miracle of Hanukkah inspires us all to remember the limitless possibilities available to those who persevere with courage and hope, added Crist. Just as the Jewish people were encouraged and strengthened when the oil in the temple lasted longer than they expected, we pray for those in need of hope during these challenging times.

Crist will be hosting a tree-lighting ceremony at the Capitol on Wednesday night.
