Charlie Crist Beats the Drum One Final Time for Gulf Spill Claims
Gov. Charlie Crist gave Floridians one last notice about Tuesdays deadline to submit damage claims that resulted from the Gulf oil spill.
With the deadline to submit a claim for Emergency Advance Payments approaching tomorrow, I encourage all individuals and business owners to quickly finalize and submit their applications, said Crist. These emergency payments can help Floridians economically hurt by this summers oil spill, as well as boost our statewide economy.
When one part of Floridas economy is hit hard, our whole state suffers, continued Crist. "Few tar balls actually touched our beaches, yet businesses throughout our state have struggled to overcome the false perceptions of oil-tainted sand, water and seafood. Their struggles prove that we cannot underestimate the importance of Floridas beautiful beaches and Gulf waters to our economic vitality and quality of life.
In the very near future, the Gulf Coast Claims Facility will publish and distribute information for final and interim claims, said Crist in closing. I encourage impacted Floridians to learn how to benefit from the claims process by visiting www.GulfCoastClaimsFacility.com.
