Carlos Lopez-Cantera: 'I Will Always Stand Up for Israel'
With Iran testing missiles in violation of a UN Security Council resolution, Lt. Gov. Carlos Lopez-Cantera, continuing his bid for the Republican nod in the U.S. Senate race, took aim at President Barack Obama’s policies.
"Iran continues to build its ballistic missile program, and the Obama administration continues to turn a blind eye while our greatest ally, Israel, is being directly threatened,” Lopez-Cantera. “The president’s decision to relax sanctions against Iran was an obvious mistake, and has only empowered Iran to continue to test how much they can get away with. The way to stop Iran from going nuclear and avoiding military action is to strengthen sanctions, not ease them, and certainly not continue to lift them. Alan Grayson and Patrick Murphy voted for the Iran deal, and further jeopardized our partnership with Israel. I will always stand up for Israel, and we cannot afford to have a senator from Florida who supports Iran.”
