Carlos Curbelo Criticizes Congress, Joe Garcia
Miami-Dade school board member and congressional hopeful Carlos Curbelo had fighting words for Congress on Thursday, criticizing members for going on recess while Americans "roll up their sleeves and get to work."
"With only four of the 12 spending bills passed and nine legislative days left before the fiscal year ends, our representatives in Washington thought it was best to keep House tradition and break for August recess,"read Curbelo's press release.
Curbelo also attacked Rep. Joe Garcia, D-Fla., for his support of the Internal Revenue Service and Obamacare.
"WhileCongress has been unable to pass appropriations bills, incumbentJoe Garciadid vote to keep the IRS in charge of managing Obamacare and all of its new taxes and fees," read the release. "The IRS has lost the trust of the American public, but President Obama and his liberal allies in Congress insist on giving the agency a major role in implementing a program that a majority of Americans do not support."
"Joe Garcia again broke his promise of doing what's best for our district when he voted with Nancy Pelosi to keep the IRS in charge of Obamacare," said Curbelo. "If Joe Garcia really cared about our community he would vote to change some of the most pernicious elements of the Obamacare legislation."
