Carlos Curbelo and Andrew Gillum Make Washington Post's '40 Under 40' List
Miami-Dade School Board member Carlos Curbelo and Tallahassee politician Andrew Gillum made The Washington Post's "40 Under 40" list of top politicians to watch across the country.
Curbelo is currently facing off against U.S. Rep. Joe Garcia, D-Fla., for the coveted South Florida district seat.
"If he can pull it off, Republicans expect Curbelo to have a big impact in Congress," reads the Post's description of Curbelo.
Gillum, whowas elected to the Tallahassee City Commission in 2003, has served as mayor pro tem of Florida's capital city several times and announced he'd be running for the full-term position this year. With the incumbent mayor not seeking re-election, Gillum's considered a lock for the position.
"Democrats bench is quite thin in Florida, which means Gillum will have opportunities to make a name for himself," reads Gillum's description.
