Carl Domino Takes Aim at 'Liberal Puppet' Patrick Murphy

Former state Rep. Carl Domino went on the attack Friday as he runs for the Republican nomination to challenge U.S. Rep. Patrick Murphy, D-Fla.

In an email to supporters, Domino hit Murphy for the government shutdown and looked to connect him with Democratic leaders like President Barack Obama and U.S. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.

I am shocked but I am not surprised, Domino wrote. For the first time in 17 years, the government has shut down because Washington's failed political class couldn't get its act together. You see, Obama, Murphy, and Pelosi don't know how to solve our embarrassing fiscal mess so they closed down the government.

We need new leadership in Washington. Proven leadership. And we need it now, more than ever, Domino insisted before showcasing his own credentials and contrasting them to the Democrat incumbent. As a battle-tested businessman, proven job-creator, and combat veteran, I know what it takes to turn around a broken system. Murphy just relied on his father's money like an entitlement to buy a seat in Congress. And the result has been predictable: Murphy is a big-spending, entrenched liberal puppet for Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama.
