Calling for Repeal of Obamacare, Rubio Focuses on Senior Issues

At a campaign stop in Miami on Friday, former House Speaker Marco Rubio, the overwhelming favorite to win the Republican nomination on Tuesday for the U.S. Senate, tackled issues relative to seniors.

We must fight to protect our seniors, said Rubio. They have fought tirelessly in order that we might live in the greatest country on Earth. For that, we owe them our unyielding support and our vow to do everything in our power to protect them. With both of my parents enrolled in the Medicare Advantage program, I know firsthand the threat that Obamacare poses to the coverage of millions of Americans. I am proud to be the only candidate in this race who has proposed the steps necessary to ensure that seniors can keep more of their own money and have financial security in retirement.

Rubio called for greater security for seniors including tougher penalties in fraud cases and for greater identity protection. He also repeated his call to abolish the new federal health-care laws backed by President Barack Obama and ending estate taxes and double taxation.
