Calling for Repeal of Obamacare, Harrington Attacks Wasserman-Schultz

While U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, a vice-chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, continues to increase her national profile -- holding a media event on Tuesday with DNC chairman and former Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine to attack Republicans for considering another shutdown of the federal government -- her Republican opponent continues to pound her for supporting new federal health-care laws backed by President Barack Obama.

"Debbie Wasserman-Schultz will never own up to the real consequences of the government takeover of our health care system that she was instrumental in engineering," said Karen Harrington early Wednesday, who won the Republican primary to take on Wasserman-Schultz last month. "With health insurance premiums already on the rise, and with claims about deficit reduction and cost savings being abandoned, the failures of Obamacare are already undeniable, except to blinded partisans such as Debbie Wasserman-Schultz.

"Rather than admit that the law was ill-conceived from the beginning, Debbie Wasserman-Schultz wilfully chooses to remain defiant in the face of mounting evidence that Obamacare was passed under false pretenses and is already failing the American people, continued Harrington. If Obamacare is not repealed, its consequences over time will be disastrous to our health care system. Obamacare will slow the responsiveness of our health care system to patients through increased waiting times for specialists and critical procedures, and it will ultimately squeeze money out of the medical industry, which ultimately impedes the development of critical medical innovations that our society has always taken for granted.

"Instead of heeding the public's call to pass a true patient-oriented reform of our health care system, Debbie Wasserman-Schultz chose to go in the exact opposite direction, and she replaced the world's most successful health care system with a government-controlled system that will ultimately dictate people's most personal health care decisions and place their private medical information in the hands of government bureaucrats -- a law from which she conveniently exempted herself, concluded Harrington who insisted this would have consequences in November. Voters in the 20th Congressional District will remember Debbie's role in Obamacare's passage, as well as her contempt for their common sense.
